· White or sanguine pomelo: Its flesh is white, and its flavor is sweet and fragrant. It is this variety that is unfairly called “grapefruit” on the shelves of our markets.
· Red grapefruit – It’s known for its deep red color and sweeter taste. These grapefruits are notoriously bitter, despite their brilliant red flesh. Nonetheless, their color is associated with a few wonderful things, such as the plant compound lycopene, a powerful antioxidant responsible for the fruit’s color.
· Pink grapefruit: Its skin is yellow and sometimes pinkish. Its pinkish flesh is crisp and juicy, and its flavor is fragrant and sweet. It is not as bitter as white grapefruit (Ruby, Red Blush).
